Power measurement is provided by the Airtopia current transformer (CT). This must be installed by a licensed electrician. We recommend mounting the CT at a convenient location near the switchboard that supplies the air conditioner. Refer to more detailed instruction provided with the product.
When using using speaker wire (stranded 20-24 gauge wire) or a CAT5 twisted pair, the 5100CT80 current transformer can be located up to 20 metres from the Airtopia controller. Take note of the polarity when joining the wires. If connecting in a switchboard, make sure the cabling meets the relevant local code requirements for insulation. (Refer to your licenced electrical installer).
The Airtopia temperature sensor 5100DTSM can be located up to 100 metres from the controller using speaker wire (stranded 20-24 gauge wire) or a CAT5 twisted pair. Take note of the polarity when joining the wires.

The IR transmitter transmits in a non visible spectrum, however the front facing camera of a mobile phone can detect it. Ensure that the IR transmitter is correctly connected to the controller (white/grey lead to terminal 4 and white lead to terminal 3). Position your front facing camera near the transmitter and send a command. You will see a white dot about one or two seconds after the command is issued.
The IR transmitter should be mounted as close as possible to the air conditioner’s IR receiver window – ideally directly over the IR receiver window or within 10mm adjacent to the window.
